What stops the flow from Spirit to Soul to Body?

Have you ever had this internal conflict that brews and percolates? No one knows it exists but you and no one knows what the matter surrounding the conflict is. Sometimes these internal battles last so long that they lead to depression or narcissistic projections unto other people. Is there a person, place, or thing external to you causing this stress? Not likely. It would be easy to point fingers and lay blame to others, but the truth is EVERYTHING starts with you. Let’s find out why? Let’s dig in!!!

Let’s start with the basic concept of pressure:

continuous physical force exerted on or against an object by something in contact with it.

For the sake of the post, I’m speaking of a “stagnation pressure.” You can read about it here and here. In this sense, we are talking about flow. Specifically, the energetic exchange between the Spirit, Soul, and Body. Let’s look at it like spiritual fluid that stops at a point. Whether that point be the Soul or the Body, pressure is created. Does that pressure get released and how?

Yes, I’m aware that some reading this may look at the Spirit and the Soul as the same thing. Yes, I’m aware that some may acknowledge the Spirit but not the Soul and vice versa. That’s fine. For the sake of this concept and post entertain my thought process, please.

You have a Spirit. It is from the Spirit World.

You have a Soul. It is from the Realm of All Souls.

Souls do not exist in the Spirit World. Why would they?

Spirits do not exist in the Realm of All Souls. Why would they?

The Body (physical formation) exists on Earth and nowhere else.

The Spirit, Soul, and Body work in unison as One. At least, that’s what’s “supposed” to happen.

The Spirit acts to assist the Soul by providing information, help, suggestions, clarity, assistance. It has access to the Spirit World, after all. It KNOWS what you’re on Earth to accomplish. The Soul has direct access to the Body. It has the “choice” to instruct the Body to carry out the message or ignore what the Spirit suggests (regardless of the reason) and command the Body to do something all together different. But why would the Soul ignore a Spiritual Message?

What is the Soul?

The Soul is your where you personality comes from. It is the miniature “Sun” that sits in your solar plexus. It is cosmic by nature. When the phrase “You are an eternal being” is uttered, they are speaking of the Soul. It is indestructible and a fragment or shard of the Universal Life Force that gives life to all things here, there, and everywhere. The memories of all of your past lives are contained within your Soul. That’s why it’s called Soul Memories. You can access them at will. I could go on and on with historical context given by the Egyptians, Gnostics, Vedas, and more but I want us to stay focused.

The Soul sits as the gatekeeper or middle path between the Spirit and Body. It has autonomy over the Body. That’s why it’s so shocking to see a person acting abnormal in behavior or “out of it” and they describe that person as being POSSESSED BY A SPIRIT. It’s like something has overridden the Soul’s command.

The Soul has a mission to execute in the span of its incarnation/life. It has purpose. It has freedoms that Spirits do not have. After all, it’s the controller of the Body. It can abort its Life Mission all together, if it so chooses. But that’s where Spirit steps in.

Accepting Help

There are all manner of Spirits that attempt to help the Soul (e.g. YOU). You have a Spirit but — as I said earlier — there is a Spirit World. Your personal Spirit give you access to this Spirit World by default. Yes, your Ancestors from every life lived. Yes, the Nature Spirits of the Earth. Yes, Cosmic Spirits you have yet to discover. The list is long.

Your Spirit knows what the Soul needs to do to be successful. It helps but cannot force. All actions are the Soul’s choice after all. But what happens when Soul doesn’t listen?

Pressure

You have a eighty-eight year old grandmother who you don’t visit much. She’s deathly ill and in the hospital. She probably won’t live much longer. You haven’t visited her. You haven’t even inquired about her condition, but there’s something deep inside you that’s insisting you call your mother and ask about her. You deny this urge, but it persists daily. It’s like a small hair stuck in your eye that you can’t seem to rub out with your finger. You feel guilt. It’s wears on you and you don’t know why. You submit, finally, and call your mother. She just so happens to be at the hospital with your grandmother. Your grandmother asks to speak to you so your mom hands over the phone. Your grandmother tells you she loves you and has always admired you. You cry silently but tell her you love her too. She passes away later that night.

You are a 7th grade male in middle school. You have a bully named Scott the Butcher. He’s an 8th grader. He fits the mold of every bully depicted in coming-of-age movies you can imagine. He smacks you in the back of the head at least twice a day for no just cause. You don’t tell your parents because you know that’ll make things worse for you in the long run and you don’t want your mom to worry. Something inside of you is telling you to tell your teacher about it. You refuse. You continue to feel this nudge to tell your teacher because the daily abuse is starting to become unbearable. During your first morning session, your teacher greets you with a big welcome hug and you melt into tears. The teacher responds with attentive care. You inform your teacher what’s been going and she promises you it will be resolved. You form a life-long bond with this teacher that remains till this day. Her kindness inspired you to become a teacher as well.

There’s work to be done and it’s continuous. There’s spiritual work to do so that you can lock in on your Spirit and its voice and its personality. There’s soul work to do so that your Soul is flexible and not a bottleneck. This means healing past and current wounds. There’s physical work to do so that your Body is “able” to carry out the Soul’s commands. The spiritual pressure created by the disharmony from the stagnation of spiritual flow can hurt you and only you will know why. Yes, you have duties and obligations in this Mundane World but you came here for a very specific reason. Try to understand what that reason is and release that internal pressure that sits on you like a weight.
